Security and Investigation services conducted throughout the State of Texas are regulated by the Texas Dept. of Public Safety, Private Security Bureau.

UPI, in an effort to increase the level of professionalism in the industry through fair and impartial regulation, reports unlicensed activity and unethical business practice.

• Security Officers, Bodyguards, PPO's, Private Investigators, and other licensees regulated by the Private Security Bureau MUST operate under contract with a client, through a licensed company or firm.
• "Freelancing" is a crime! In the state of Texas, Security Officers, Private Investigators, Bodyguards, and other PSB registrants may not operate independently of a licensed Security and/or Investigations firm.

Clients

T.D.P.S. / PSB can fine businesses or Clients who hire unlicensed or unregistered staff. As a Client or customer, it is in your best interest to check out the individual and company the individual represents.
